A WordPress lead form that doesn’t drop leads

A lead form is a contact form whose entries are worth money: quote requests, callback requests, bookings, demo requests. It should ask for as little as it can, keep every lead even when email or an integration fails, and show you what happened to each one. Ask little

Every extra required field costs you leads. Name, a way to reach them, and what they need is usually enough to start a conversation. Mailbag's Quote request and Callback request templates are built that way.

Never depend on one delivery

If a lead exists only as an email, a mail problem loses it. If it exists only in a CRM integration, a disconnected key loses it. The free Mailbag Contact Form saves each lead in WordPress before sending anything, and shows per entry whether the notification reached your mail server.

Answer quickly

Speed matters with leads. Set the notification's subject so it says what the lead wants — Mailbag's templates use Quote request from {field:name} and Please call {field:name} back — and Reply-To to the lead's email so answering is one click. The Entries screen shows unread leads, and the menu counts them.

Into the CRM — with Mailbag Pro

The paid add-on Mailbag Pro sends each lead on to HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, Brevo, Mailchimp, Kit or MailerLite with your own API key, or to Zapier, Make or n8n by webhook. It watches each connection: when a CRM stops accepting leads, it keeps them, emails an address you choose at most once a day, retries for up to 7 days, and tells you when it's working again.

Spam that doesn't eat leads

A spam filter that throws away a real lead is as bad as a broken integration. Mailbag's honeypot, time trap and per-address limit work without a puzzle, caught messages are kept for 30 days with the reason, and an outage at a CAPTCHA provider never turns real leads away.
