Free is the contact form. Pro gets the leads where they need to go.
Everything a contact form does is in the free plugin. Pro is for the moment each entry also has to reach your newsletter or CRM — and keep reaching it when those services change their keys, lists and APIs.

Mailbag Pro
—
or —, billed monthly. One site. Cancel any time.
- Everything in the free plugin, which Pro needs installed
- Each entry sent on to Mailchimp, Brevo, Kit, MailerLite, ActiveCampaign, HubSpot or any webhook — Zapier, Make, n8n
- API keys from your own accounts — no app of ours in between, and no login token to refresh
- For each form: the list, the fields each entry goes to, tags, and “only when the consent box is ticked”
- Every connection watched; an alert email at most once a day per broken connection, and one when it works again
- Failed deliveries kept with the service's own reason and sent again for up to 7 days; a refused address is never retried
- Updates delivered in your WordPress admin, and email support from us
Not on sale yet. Pro installs on top of the free plugin, and the free plugin isn't in the WordPress.org directory yet — so there would be nothing to use it with.

Prices are per site, in US dollars. Payment is handled by Paddle, our reseller and merchant of record, which also works out sales tax or VAT for where you are.
What a licence buys
Mailbag Pro is GPL software, like the free plugin and like WordPress itself. Anyone may use, copy and change the code — paying is not what makes it legal to run. What the subscription buys is the upkeep: new versions delivered into your admin while it is active, and a person to write to.
That upkeep is the product. Seven integrations sit on other companies' APIs, and those move. HubSpot is closing private apps to new accounts in favour of Service Keys during the autumn of 2026. Brevo can switch on IP blocking for an account and deactivates an API key that hasn't been used for 90 days. Kit, formerly ConvertKit, has a v4 API whose keys don't work on the old one. A copied plugin keeps sending the way the code did on the day it was copied.
What happens if the licence lapses
If you cancel, a payment fails, or you simply don't renew:
- Every connection keeps sending. The retry queue and the alert emails keep running.
- No data is removed — not an entry, a connection or a setting.
- The free plugin runs exactly as before.
- Updates stop, and so does support. That is what you were paying for.
- One notice on Mailbag's Settings screen says the licence is missing. Not on every page, not in a popup, and never a fatal error.
What you give up is the maintenance: the day one of those services changes something, your copy doesn't get the fix.
Questions
Do I need an account here? No. The copy you download after paying already carries your licence, so there is nothing to type in; it shows up on the License tab of Mailbag's settings in your own admin.
What does Pro send to you? Only what a licence and updates need: a licence check at most once a week, WordPress' own update check, and the download when you update. Those requests carry the licence, the plugin version, a random installation id and — in the standard User-Agent header — your site's address. Your entries never come to us; they go from your server straight to the services you connect. The privacy policy lists every call.
What if your licence service is down? Nothing happens on your site. Pro keeps working and the update channel stays open for 30 days; a licence check must never be able to break a website.
Can I cancel? Yes, any time. The email with your download link also carries a link to Paddle's customer portal, where you can cancel, change the card or download invoices; or email us and we'll do it. You keep what you've paid for until the end of the period. See refunds and cancellation.

Does a staging copy count as a second site? No — a licence covers one production site together with its staging, development and local copies. How that is counted, and what happens if it is ever counted wrongly, is in section 4 of the terms.
